The Dave TV original series sees athletes-turned-broadcasters Tim Warwood and Adam Gendle dropped randomly into different locations around the UK. Their task? To take inspiration from their surroundings and, using only the props given to them, dream up and execute epic and incredible. With only £1,000 for each stunt and only three days to build and test their creations, they’ll need every ounce of their extreme sports experience to pull it off. The Indestructibles is created by leading lifestyle sports and culture specialists Factory Media and funded by G-SHOCK.
I got a call from Adam Gendle from the Indestructibles TV show on Dave asking me if I could do a full loop on my snowboard? Without hesitation I said “yes of course” Adam replied “Good you can be on the show”
It wasn’t till I put the phone down that the realisation kicked in, I hadn’t stood on a snowboard for over a year yet alone ridden on dryslope.
The full pipe was a beast but didn’t really work well. The radius was a bit tight and as the board ran up the wall it became sticky and the only way to describe it was like crashing in to a wall but trying to not stop moving. The guys sprayed the slope with water which speeded things up a little. There wasn’t any real technique other than to approach the loop with good speed and imagine a back flip off a wall ride. This kinda worked and I we all managed to get around although took plenty of beatings. All in the name of good TV!
